About Senathi Creche Daycare

Senathi Creche was established in 2016 by Mrs Mkhize, who shared a diverse background which includes a sad and emotional experience in her community. She worked together with highly committed volunteers to make it possible.

Our Vision

To be a community anchor that nurtures every child in our care — body, mind and heart — giving working families the confidence that their little ones are safe, seen and encouraged to grow.

Our Mission

To provide affordable, quality early childhood care and education — combining a developmentally appropriate curriculum with warmth, play and community, so every child can grow through our hands.

The community we serve

The community we serve — the families, homes and streets that shape the children who walk through our doors every morning.

Our foundation

The 7 Pillars

At Senathi Creche we provide a curriculum that is age appropriate, emphasises principles rather than facts, learning through problem solving, and honours individual differences. Our curriculum is a 'head, hand and heart' approach to learning and teaching — knowledge, skills and values. Because the child is a total child in body, mind and soul, teaching and learning focus on developmentally appropriate activities, with a steady integration of music, literacy, movement and social well-being.

Daily life

How We Work

01

Schedule

We set up custom programs inside a caring environment to meet the individual needs of every child, from arrival time through daily indoor and outdoor activities.

02

Meals

We provide free nutritious porridge for all children to support their educational blocks, and encourage parents to provide subsequent daily meals.

03

Sleep

Tailored by age group — children rest quietly or engage in calm tasks on mattresses provided by their parents.

04

Outdoor

Scheduled for an hour daily to foster physical and mental development, dependent on weather conditions.

05

Our Staff

We blend qualified Early Childhood Educators with passionate local volunteers, supported through stipend structures.

06

Enrollment

Requires a completed intake form alongside a copy of the child's official immunization card and registration school fees.
